Nishibe Nori - Makombu in Hokkaido
Kombu is made from Japanese edible seaweed. The seaweed is first carefully dried before being packaged and sold. Makombu is a very high-quality kombu and is also the most popular kombu, particularly due to its longer and wider seaweed than other types of kombus. It is used, among other things, to make excellent dashi for udon, nabe, soups, and yudofu.
This makombu is carefully cultivated in the southwest of the island of Hokkaido.
The Nishibe Nori brand specializes in the production of seaweed-related food products.
