Japanese "ume" plums are the fruit of a tree related to both apricot and plum. Closer to apricots than plums, they can only be eaten after being macerated or cooked, not raw.
The Japanese company Captain was founded in 1935. At the time, it only produced alcohol, but today it mainly produces syrups in a variety of flavours.
Made in Japan.
